|Initiatives||Measures and of progress|
|Process for the recognition of core skills||A learning event took place in March 2019 to share the positive lessons learned from collaborative work between the Institute of Technology Carlow, the Defence Forces and other organisations. The Defence Forces programmes were based on the recognition of ongoing and prior learning, (and certification within the National Framework of Qualifications), of the skills, knowledge and competencies required to operate at different levels in the Defence Forces.
Another sector is now being identified with which to pilot a similar collaboration.
An approach to the identification of core skills for use across the wider public service is being developed.
|Sharing leadership CPPD models||A tender process was conducted and a company was engaged to review and capture the learnings from the Centre for School Leadership and the HSE’s Leadership Academy programmes. This will outline lessons learnt and showcase examples of different approaches, including mentoring, coaching, and work place/action learning.
|Experiential learning opportunities||A case study is currently under discussion with the HSE on the Department of Health’s Connecting project. This aims to identify lessons learned and adapt them for cross organisational work placement opportunities in the wider public service.
