Impact Report: RPA in Public Services

Deloitte recently published an ‘Impact Report’ showcasing outcomes, efficiencies and ancillary benefits that have been achieved using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) amongst a selection of public service bodies over a period of one year (April 2020 – April 2021). The report chronicles the ways that RPA provided assistance to the Health Service Executive and the Department of Social Protection in dealing with unprecedented volumes of processes that arose as a consequence of the Covid19 pandemic. This includes a tally of hours saved as well as an indication of how much quicker process execution happens when using robotics. The report also identifies processes undertaken in the Office of the Revenue Commissioners as well as the latest organisations to on-board RPA through piloting at the Department of Education, Pobal, the Tax Appeals Commission, the Local Government Management Agency and the National Transport Authority.
